This week you may have noticed we had an election in the UK. Mercury also turned retrograde bringing with it, its usual quota of revisions and reassessments; on Tuesday I went to 21st Century Astrologers and we had to improvise as the charts we were going to use didn’t make it to the meeting. As always with Mercury retrograde the things you end up doing are usually more fruitful than what was originally planned. We noted the Mars sextile Uranus in the early hours of Thursday and wondered if the election would give us some surprises, which of course it did.
The full moon on Wednesday at 15 Sagittarius picked up the intensity of Pluto setting an charged emotional note which will not clear until after the two eclipses. Mars will station direct at this point on 20th July and it was also the point where Mars conjoined Pluto earlier in the year.
Don’t expect anything to be straightforward for a while yet.
Week Ending 17th June 2001
The low level intensity of the past week, together with the confusion of a Mercury retrograde will peak this week. Many oppositions take place this week: Mars opposes Jupiter on the 12th, Mars opposes the Sun on the 13th and the Sun conjoins Jupiter on the 14th and towards the end of the week Uranus and Neptune throw in their contribution.
If you pick a fight this week make sure you know how strong your opponent is; better still think again and pick another week. All this strong positive energy leaves no room for resolution and a graceful exit. Chances are anything will escalate this week. Be very clear about what you want but don’t be surprised if this gets interpreted as overt aggression.
Week Ending 24th June 2001
The tension of last week gives way to an easier but just as fast paced collaboration between Jupiter and Uranus. This could bring some inventive and innovative ideas which help bridge the impasse of last week but don’t think the chaos has passed.
The first eclipse of the summer comes on 21st June at 0 degrees of Cancer. This is a solar eclipse stirring up our emotions and sending everyone of into an emotional fog not helped by Mercury still being retrograde and making an aspect to Neptune.
This is not a good time for anything which required a clear head. Everyone is being driven by gut instinct and expect a temporary upsurge in the housing market as the nesting instincts of Cancer drive our decisions.
