“The horoscope for the proclamation of the Republic of Pakistan may also be considered significant. The Republic was “created” in a thirty-minutes ceremony on the morning of 23 March 1956 in Karachi. The celebrations began with a thirty-one gun salute at 7.00 am and the proclamation was read at 7.05 am. Chart 239 is set for 7.05 on 23 March 1956 in Karachi. In view of the frequent use made of astrologers by Pakistani politicians, we have to consider the possibility that this time was elected astrologically. However, Pakistani astrologer Khalid Yusuf has advised me that although most Pakistani politicians use astrology it is unlikely that the proclamation of the Republic was set for an elected moment.”
