Queen lays wreath in Berlin

3rd November 2004

The Queens is currently on a state visit to Germany, part of which will involve laying a wreath to commemorate war dead in Berlin. There have also been some, somewhat mischievous, stories in the British press that the German press are calling for her to apologise for, among other things, the bombing of Dresden. Her Majesty used her speech at the formal dinner last night to recognise the "appalling suffering of war on both sides". Instead she spoke of the need for "reconciliation" between Britain and Germany. "In remembering the appalling suffering of war on both sides, we recognise how precious is the peace we have built in Europe since 1945," she said. "It is difficult for someone of my generation to overemphasise this," she added, urging both countries to look beyond "simplistic stereotypes".

She also spoke out on environmental issues and the need to pay attention to global warming; she will open a conference on Climate Issues today and it has been rumoured that she has complained to Tony Blair about George W Bush's lack of action on environmental issues.

There is strong synastry between the Queen, the UK - which should be expected as she's our Queen - and Germany. This shouldn't surprise us either as the House of Windsor has German roots; the name was changed during the First World War. But what brings all these three together on a certain day for such symbolically charged duties?

Chart for United Kingdom United Kingdom
Chart for Germany - Unification Germany - Unification
Chart for Queen Elizabeth II Queen Elizabeth II
Chart for Queen laying wreath Queen Lays wreath - symbolic time

The trine between Saturn and Mercury for the day is made into a grand trine by the Queen's Uranus, Mercury is conjunct her MC and Saturn and the degree of her Uranus will rise at around the time of the laying of the wreath. I have set the chart for the wreath laying for the moment that 27 Pisces rises, so completing the grand trine with Mercury and Saturn and bringing in the natal planets mentioned.

There is also a trine between the Sun and the Moon which picks up the Queen's Pluto symbolising large groups of people and issues of life and death. Transiting Moon is conjunct the UK MC and opposite the UK Sun showing our monarch's presence in this event.

Transiting Chiron is also on her ascendant. The Mercury Saturn trine also picks up Germany's Chiron - Saturn by conjunction and Mercury by trine.

Quite a nice set of symbolic connections.
