Thoughts for December 2004
Saturday, 25th December 2004
Merry Christmas, look towards the light at the darkest point of the
year.
The week ahead - 25th through 31st December
An emotional time is ahead of us. You may say it doesn't take an astrologer
to say that Christmas is emotionally intense but with a Cancer Full Moon
on Boxing Day, that the 26th for who are unfamiliar with British holidays,
together with Mars moving signs into optimistic Sagittarius brings antagonistic
energies. Balancing a full on family oriented crescendo with the desire
to run to the hills is difficult - perhaps all the family can go jogging
in the park?
As the Moon passes through Cancer, it will approach Saturn so watch out
for those who refuse to listen to what you say and insist on hearing what
they think you said; there may be far too many sulking older female family
members at this point.
The work builds to a spectacular, high energy T square between Uranus,
Mars and the Moon. Choose your New Year plans with this in mind. Tempers
will be frayed. Probably best to plan something with a relaxed itinerary;
plans with regimented travel arrangements are doomed to fail.

The week ahead - 18th through 24th December
Well, I don't suppose it's any coincidence that I haven't had the time
to post anything for the whole of the Mercury Retrograde period. It turns
direct on Monday and is conjunct my Ascendant; it turned retrograde square
my Saturn and also picked up a few midpoints: Asc/MC and Sun/Merc. No
wonder I got a bit wiped out. So we have a direct Mercury but he's still
moving very slowly and wont be clear of his shadow period until 7th January,
that is, he wont have reached the degree at which he started to move backwards.
Perhaps those who've left their Christmas shopping to the last minute
are more in tune with the Cosmos and have got it right? They will also
have the Moon in Taurus which is great for acquiring stuff.
Today sees several fabulous aspects. The first being the grand trine
in water between the Moon, Mars and Saturn. Later in the day, once the
Moon has left this configuration, it will move to square the Sun at 27
Pisces. The last one is Venus squaring Uranus at the beginning of Sagittarius
and Pisces which will perfect on Sunday as will the trine between Mars
and Saturn.
From these we get a feeling of poignancy and regret, possibly of sorrow
and an awareness of our collective plight. The more jarring Venus Uranus
aspect later in the day could bring the decision to act on the emotional
content of Saturday. Beware spontaneous acts as you will have to live
with the consequences but they may be just what the doctor ordered.
Wednesday sees the Sun move into Capricorn so from now on the days will be
getting longer and the skies brighter in the northern hemisphere. A
fuller analysis of the Ingress chart can be found on the articles page.
Not much happens this week in the way of aspects. The full moon is on
the 26th at 5 Cancer and we can look on this as being a smooth crescendo
peaking just as the family starts to go home after the Christmas gatherings.
We also have a mutual reception between Venus and Jupiter and this has
a lot to do with the change of atmosphere which several people felt in
the middle of the week and they put down to Mercury going direct. Venus
is not at the call of Mars any longer but now has an understanding with
Jupiter. Mars will move into Sagittarius on the 26th which could give
us the key to greater understanding and tolerance. Although that's a big
jump to make at this stage in the game.
Merry Christmas.

The first full day of Mercury retrograde also comes with Venus so close
to Mars with Neptune breathing down her ear and Jupiter staring across
the room. The potential for misunderstandings is huge. Leave loads of
time to sort out getting out of the blind alleys and you won't get so
hot under the collar; the less pressure you put on yourself the more likely
things are not going to go completely up the wall.
