Thoughts for October 2004

Thursday Take Two
I'd just like to make a further point about the quintiles. I'm not telling
people to meditate for anything. What I'd doing is highlighting
a particularly fruitful period where this ephemeral energy could be tapped
for the collective good, what ever that may be. I'm definitely not telling
you who to vote for. Perhaps we could all meditate for politicians who
don't just want to get their noses in the trough?
Thursday Take One
Today we have a lunar eclipse and the second instalment of the Grand
Quintile. I have been sent a message from an astrologer in New York which
I would like to share with you. It concerns how you could tune into this very
rare configuration and attempt to "do your bit".

Tomorrow will see the second grand quintile this month along with the full
Moon. I've written a separate piece about this as
there are some very special link between the new and full Moons and the Quintiles.

The planets are in some strange positions at the moment; you could say
they're sulking. Most of them are unaspected which can lead to a lack
of coherence and is certainly not good for joined up thinking. The Moon,
due to its fast progress round the zodiac, does pick up these isolated
planets fairly regularly as does the Sun, which is separating from its
square to Saturn which was perfected yesterday. No wonder the left hand
doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Stories are starting to emerge detailing the so called dirty tricks which
people have been experiencing in Florida. There are stories of phone votes
and calls getting people to register themselves for an absentee vote to
name but none of this activity comes from the election office. Astrologically
you can see Mercury is in Scorpio and is firmly ruled by Mars, but Mars
is in its detriment and has no strength of character being in turn ruled
by Venus in her fall in Virgo. This chain of rulerships does not bode
well for the integrity of the campaign in its last two weeks.

Advanced voting starts today in Florida and at 7 am in Tallahassee Mars
is conjunct the ascendant. This isn't particularly surprising, after all
the situation in Iraq is a significant factor in this election but this
Mars is in its fall and rules the seventh house; if this were a battle
it would be a major clue to an opposition victory. Building to an exact
aspect, in addition to the Sun, Moon and Saturn, see below, is the Venus
Pluto square. This will hit Kerry's chart, the Luminaries will hit Bush.
My money is on a further breakdown in function for the President and more
scandals or negative campaigning for Kerry.

The next six days sees a build up of tension which hits many points involved
in current politics: Blair, the USA, Bush and many other players in the
Iraq story have points at 26/27 of the cardinal points. On 21st October,
the Sun and Moon will square and oppose respectively Saturn at 27 Cancer.
All of these planets will be in their detriment or fall. George W Bush's
Saturn is at 26 Cancer: he's on his second Saturn return. This isn't surprising,
phases of the Saturn cycle relate to, among other things, increases in
responsibility but they also relate to receiving just desserts. Today
Mars trines Neptune and the Moon will square it. This sounds very much
like more underhand force against the people.

Today's Saturn Mercury Square, which ties in my own Saturn Mercury opposition,
coincides nicely with my new idea for the website. I've wanted to do this
for a while, but haven't quite found the correct format. Hopefully this
is it. This mornings eclipse in Libra had Venus conjunct the ascendant
for London with the cluster of Libra planets in the second house of moveable
property. Now there has been a lot of focus on saying sorry lately but
this morning the Chancellor Gordon Brown announced further measures to
deal with terrorist grounds and their assets. The Libra emphasis also
keeps talk of treatise in the news with John Kerry bringing Kyoto into
the debate although he hasn't gone so far as to say the US should sign
up. Beware peace makers in sheep's clothing.
