Thoughts for June 2006 - Crunch Time

More economic turmoil has shown up right on schedule. The consequences of decisions
taken near the beginning of this cycle are making themselves know. I'm sure
Vodafone will not be the only telecoms firms to find that everything is not
as it seems with their infrastructure. Vodafone aquired Mannesman in 2000, at
the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Taurus http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/5028718.stm.
Taurus is about reality and concrete value. Rather than preceived value, as
measured by the stock market, earth signs and Taurus partiuclarly require us
to get to the core value. If something is flavour of the month, submitting it
to Taurus scrutiny will determine if that perceived value is real.
This pressure on resources is reflected in the increasing concern about natural
resources which I've spoken of before on this site. As well as the focus on
utilities - gas, water, electricity - there is also the pressure exerted by
overreached situations. The occupation of Iraq and Afganistan is a huge drain
on the resources of the occupying powers.

USA Sibly Chart
The Jupiter Saturn square has Jupiter in Scorpio and Saturn in Leo. This pics
up the 2nd and 11th houses of the United Kingdom and the 8th and 11th houses
of the USA. These are all resource houses, 2nd being the resources of the country,
8th being the resources of the opposition or enemy, 11th being the resources
of the King or government. This fits with the associations of the 11th with
hopes and fears, our hopes are, in effect, the gift of the king. It doesn't
take an astrologer to predict a crisis in resources to support the war but when
it shows up in the symbolism quite so clearly it gets a bit worrying.
