The sad events is Pakistan show some very interesting astrology in action. If we take the 7.32 pm time for Ms Bhutto then the Jupiter Mars opposition takes place across her ascendant at 2 Cancer/Capricorn and pulls in the Sun on the Republic of Pakistan at 2 Aries. The line ups are numerous and tell a very sad story of an individual entwined with the destiny of a country.

Her Sun is at 29 Gemini and is picked up by the opposition in Cancer/Cap mentioned above but the exact Mars/Pluto opposition is at 29 Gemini on 31st January. This is very headline but there are more "spooky" and significant line ups when you bring in progressions.

Her progressed Sun had moved to conjoin her natal Pluto, Sun being her 8th house ruler, and the transiting Moon was also conjunct this point: 21 Leo. Even more significant could be the alignment with the Sun of the Pakistan independence chart and the Jupiter - 22 Leo - of the Pakistan republic chart.

There are several other interesting connections: the transiting Sun in conjoined with her Mars, this is a little further into Capricorn at 4° from the Jupiter Mars opposition, I like to be picky with tight orbs; the Neptune of the Pakistan independence chart is conjunct the IC of the death declaration chart and the MC of the independence chart is conjunct her North Node. The Mercury of the independence chart is conjunct her eighth house cusp.

Coming back to concentrate on her natal chart, to give us an outline of the promise of her life, we can see the Sun Mars conjunction on her descendant, Sun ruling the eighth and Mars ruling the IC and eleventh. The violent death of her father, her own violent death, the potential for a political dynasty which her son is taking on and the limit of her own effectiveness - Sun and Jupiter in sixth house, Jupiter in Gemini.

Moving to look at the Capricorn Ingress set for Karachi we see Jupiter and Mercury ruling the angles: Pisces ascendant and Sagittarius MC. Both Jupiter and Mercury are combust - judgement is impaired - and under the rule of Saturn, who is stationary in the seventh house, ruling 11th and 12th houses. Ms Bhutto, as ruler of the opposition would be shown by the IC and its ruler: Mercury. Mercury is applying to oppose a debilitated Mars and ruled by a stationary Saturn. This pulls the emphasis on the whole of the fourth quarter into the seventh house. Saturn afflicts the first house, from the seventh, and rules the eleventh and twelfth. There is certainly good cause to suspect a cover up and certainly confirmation of a terrorist attack.

Looking at her chart again, you can see that her 12th cusp is very close to the MC of the ingress chart and the north node of the republic chart and the 11th house - politics - cusp is very close to her ascendant. What ever has happened here is part of a greater story for Pakistan. It is usually tragic when an individual becomes entwined in a greater story, their individuality is subsumed and they become an archetype, an actor playing a part of the greater stage. Let us hope that the people of Pakistan are able to find a way to move forward in the most productive way.
