This is the first opportunity I've had to put this story up. I did the notes for it immediately after the event but you'll have to trust me that I haven't used hind sight to plug in the gaps.

At just after 3.00 GMT (6.00 local time) Saddam Hussein was executed by hanging in Baghdad. Some stories have stated “slightly after 6 am” as the time.

He had been sentenced to death on 5 November 2006.

In the hanging chart we see Mars and Pluto on either side of the ascendant, a fitting description for death by handing (first house = head), and Saturn trine to this position. Beheading would have been even more symbolically potent but don’t forget there was the taunting which took place out of view of the official camera. This is very resonant of Saturn high in the sky and Pluto rising. This was a trine, so it was easy for the taunters to carry out their plan. Mars is sextile to Neptune which is opposite Saturn adding another level of subversion and confusion.

The following outrage also fits well. State approved murder is attacked for not being dignified enough. And Saturn, Mars, Neptune is very good martyr material.
There are repeating degrees through the Middle East story. They are 6/7/8 of fixed and 26/27 of Cardinal. Chiron is at 7° Aquarius in the execution chart. Mars in the sentencing chart is at 8° Scorpio.

Bringing in the chart which has been passed off as Saddam’s for many years we also repeating degrees. I should stress here that Saddam’s birth data is almost certainly lost. It is believed that this is the chart of a friend and he adopted it as his own. It has value purely as a symbolic tool.

The Sun and Uranus of this chart as at 7° and 9° respectively and the partile Jupiter Pluto opposition is at 26 Capricorn/Cancer. He also has Mercury at 24° Taurus conjunct Algol, fitting for one who literally lost his head. It is interesting to note that Tony Blair has 26° Capricorn as his MC.

He was captured on 13 December 2003 at 20.30 in Tikrit. This chart has 8° Leo as its ascendant which is conjunct the ascendant, Mercury and Pluto of George W Bush. Neptune is at 11 Aquarius, conjunct Blair’s Moon, but this is also opposite the Moons of the sentencing and execution charts. I did think that the Moon was a bit out of position as I expected it nearer 8° but it may be lining up with this Neptune.

One very interesting thing is that the Sun in the capture chart is at 21° Sagittarius which is conjunct the ascendant in the execution chart. It is also strange that Venus has returned to its position in the capture chart within three degrees and one minute.
As to whether this execution will solve anything? Well I don’t think so but I thought I’d better have a look at the astrology to back this up.

The treaty of San Remo is a key chart for the Middle East; this was the treaty when the region was divided up after the first world was to the colonial powers. This has a Mercury Chiron conjunction at 8° Aries. Assuming that we have a good time, and even if we don’t it’s going to be within a couple of degrees, this is conjunct the IC and square the Sun of the execution chart. I don’t this that this is the end of the matter.
