Looking backwards towards Peace: Part 2
Circle or Spiral?
Downing Street Declaration:
Now we move to look at the past five years from the Downing Street Declaration,
through the cease-fire charts to the referendum and to the date for the
elections if the referendum returns a yes decision.
You’ll be pleased to know that all the charts from now on are timed.
A lot of announcements get made at noon but they are proper event charts.
If you think about the common degrees which have been coming up, 12 ish
and 18 - 22 of cardinal, you see two areas which got the full force of
the Uranus Saturn Neptune conjunctions of recent time. So why did nothing
happen until now - I think it needed the transits of Uranus and now Neptune
to the early fixed degrees and Pluto to reach 8/9 of mutable, I'll come
back to that later.
The Downing Street Declaration was the public evidence of a lot of work
on the part of John Hume, leader of the SDLP; Gerry Adams, Predident of
Sinn Fein, and others to bring the situation to a peaceful conclusion.
Much of the behind the scenes work is now referred to as Hume/Adams. This
could not be acknowledged at the time and is shown quite well by the Moon
Uranus Neptune conjunction which is separate from the rest of the chart.
The people behind the scenes - the Moon - have changed everything, but
they can't be seen to be there yet.
We mustn't forget that this was a Conservative government and the IRA
was a terrorist organisation who had not yet started to worry about window
dressing and public image. At the time the public weren't ready for the
idea of talking to terrorists - Uranus Neptune conjunction iis at 19/20
Capricorn, opposite the Moon of the United Kingdom at 19 Cancer - the
people could not have accepted it then.
The same goes for the Mercury Venus conjunction in Sagittarius - idealism
on an international scale, conjunct the Sun Mercury in the reorganisation
chart.
Jupiter only has a semi square to the Sun - this Jupiter is nearly conjunct
the Jupiter in the Re-organisation chart - the Unionists are brought along
but only just.
But this declaration had to be all things to all people - Pisces rising
- it was a start. Someone had to open the door, the rest was up to the
other players.
IRA Cease-fire:
This is the chart for the announcement made on 31st August 1994; it became
effective at Midnight that night as the Moon moved to almost conjunct
the Mars and 16 Leo - Mars in the Republic chart - was on the IC.
This is a very busy chart with loads of practically exact aspects. Venus
rising in Libra bringing peace and harmony; it is also conjunct Spica,
that most fortunate of fixed stars. Moon Mars in Cancer - protecting the
people, in the ninth house - demanding recognition for the people, as
in a united Ireland. Cancer is intercepted and Mars is conjunct the
MC of the UK chart indicates that this gesture alone will not be enough
for peace.
This was a moment of revolution shown by the very tight Uranus aspects:
Sun Uranus is exact.
In my opinion it was also one of true structural change, both of the
way the organisation operates and its motivation: the very tight grand
trine in water of Jupiter, Saturn and Mars. I think this says a lot about
how they were truly re-organising. In the Sinn Fein chart these three
planets are in hard aspect and in the republic chart although Jupiter
is Trine Mars, it is square Saturn.
Again we have the repeating degrees - 9 Virgo, 23 Virgo, 22 Libra/Aries.
Saturn at 9 Virgo seems quite reassuring, as if some structure or protection
has been brought, at the very least a boundary, to a degree where we have
found Mars often.
Loyalist Cease-fire:
The Loyalists announced their cease-fire on 13th October 1994. It was
announced by the same man - Gusty Spence - who shot John Scullion in 1966.
We have the Sun at 19 Libra, following the pattern, and square to Uranus
and Neptune: a leap of faith and again a revolutionary move from their
history.
Mercury squares Mars at 4 fixed with a wider square from the Moon making
the T square. Saturn comes in to Trine Mercury and quincunx Mars. I think
this shows the loyalists' fear of loosing face, they had to appear to
be strong and keep the more militant unionists on board.
Incidentally, the DUP - Ian Paisley's party, the most antagonistic to
all party talks, have 10 Aquarius as their node - the Moon here and the
Sun at 5 Scorpio and Mercury at 19 Scorpio and Venus at 22 Scorpio - which
are conjunct the Venus Jupiter conjunction in this chart.
So there are ties between the more reactionary Unionists and their cease-fire
and Uranus has been transiting these points recently.
The Canary Wharf Bomb:
As you know the cease-fire of the IRA was broken by the bomb at Canary
Wharf at one minute past seven on 9th February 1996.
Points which keep re occurring are 23 Pisces, 18 Libra and 20 Aquarius.
You can see that the Moon, Node and Pluto are in semi square.
The Midheaven at 6 Gemini is conjunct the Sun Mercury conjunction in
the chart of the first UVF victim. I think this chart is a last twitch
- a very violent twitch - of the Republicans who subscribe to the armed
struggle. The bombs which followed were timed by the passage of the Moon
in hard aspect to Pluto and the Mars Pluto cycle.
The Sun at 20 Aquarius is conjunct the descendant in the Republic chart
and Mars is conjunct Mars in the reorganisation chart.
Now the IRA have since resumed their cease-fire but some elements have
formed what they refer to as the Continuity IRA. Now we do have a well
timed chart for their first Bomb.
Continuity IRA:
Now I am unsure whether this is the same organisation as the "Real
IRA" who made a statement at the weekend (May 1998) but they exploded
a bomb at 11.48 16th September 1997 at Markethill, the time is from a
clock taken from the wreckage.
Again, we see 23 Virgo and 18 Libra, and Saturn and Pluto in hard aspect.
These also fit with the pattern associated with the events following the
Canary Wharf bomb.
Gerry Adams has said that a paramilitary organisation cannot survive
without grass roots support - does the Moon in Pisces describe this kind
of public support?
Peace Document:
I had picked out the first week in April because that would be the last
part of the dance between Pluto and Saturn in sesquiquadrate and they
would be joined by Mars at 22 Aries, Saturn only having reached 20 Aries
before it retrograded earlier in the year.
On Tuesday the 2nd, Mars would conjunct Saturn at 22 Aries, Mercury had
stationed there two days before. On the 3rd, Mars would sesquiquadrate
Pluto and at the end of the week on the 9th, Saturn would sesquiquadrate
Pluto.
The week before, Senator Mitchell announced that he had chosen the 9th
April as the deadline.
On the 2nd there were announcements that it couldn't be done, on the
7th - the day of the Sun Mercury conjunction - they bring out the draft
document, but Mercury is retrograde and they blow up the photocopier trying
to get it copied in time.
On the evening of the 9th, they sit up through the night, but the Moon
is void of course in Virgo. The world's media hope they have spent their
last night camped in a car park. At 2 a.m. the Moon enters Libra but still
nothing.
At 5.36 p.m. on Friday 10th April they announce they have an agreement
and a document.
And here we have our old favourites again - 24 Virgo rising, Mercury
at 13 Aries, Sun at 20 Aries, Saturn at 22 Aries, Node at 10 Virgo.
By midpoint Mercury was on the Ascendant Midheaven and Jupiter Uranus
midpoints - this time and place are about a revolutionary progress in
communication.
20 Capricorn was the Moon Uranus Neptune in the Downing Street Declaration
chart.
22 Aries the descendant in the IRA cease-fire chart.
23 Cancer is the Moon in the re-organisation chart.
Saturn at 22 Aries is the Saturn return to the first publicised civil
rights march.
The Referendum:
The next two charts are set for 7 a.m. which is when they open the polls
for voting to begin.
For the referendum, we have Jupiter at 23 Pisces. The major significator
for peace treaties is the Sun Jupiter opposition and this year this happens
in September at 23 Virgo/Pisces. This fact alone makes me hugely optimistic!
When you take in Venus at 21 Aries and Moon at 12 Aries hitting the popular
degrees and the node on the IC at 6 Virgo which is the Saturn in the Loyalist
Cease-fire chart and square the Sun Mercury conjunction in the first UVF
target chart you can see the resonance with past events. Jupiter is unaspected
here. I would say that this may come out as an over expectation of what
will happen and an underestimation of the hard work which needs to be
put in.
The Elections...
If there is a yes vote then elections will be held on 25th June.
The Moon is conjunct the Moon of the UK and on the ubiquitous 18 cardinal
and conjunct Mercury, but this and the semi square to the node is the
only aspect it makes. Now if it wasn't for the Jupiter aspects - the next
Jupiter stations being at 28 Pisces and 18 Pisces - I would be apprehensive
about this as this is a re-run of the Canary Wharf Moon Node Pluto line
up but I will make my forecast the meaningful inclusion of Republicanism
in the politics of Northern Ireland. I think a United Ireland is still
some way off.
Saturn stations at 3 Taurus which is the Sun of the Republic and the
Mercury Mars square of the Loyalist cease-fire. Neptune stations at 2
Aquarius so will touch the same points.
Pluto will reach 9 Sagittarius at the end of the year amongst other things
this is the descendant of the reorganisation chart and the Mars of the
troop deployment chart.
The Midheaven of the re - organisation chart is 5 Aquarius, Neptune will
reach there in February 2000, about the same time as the Republic has
its Uranus return. All this is shortly followed by the Jupiter Saturn
conjunction and a pile up in Taurus.
Now that should be an interesting time...
